Environment & FSC®

At Nordcell, we recognize our responsibility to minimize our environmental footprint and promote sustainable practices across the woodpulp supply chain. As a company engaged in the global trade of woodpulp, we are committed to responsible sourcing, transportation, and stakeholder engagement.

1. Sustainable transportation

We aim to reduce the environmental impact of transporting woodpulp by:

  • Prioritizing energy-efficient and low-emission shipping and logistics solutions.
  • Working with partners committed to environmental best practices.

2. Responsible business travel

We recognize that business travel contributes to carbon emissions. To reduce our impact, we:

  • Limit travel to essential purposes and encourage virtual meetings.
  • Promote the use of low-carbon travel options whenever feasible.
  • Offset carbon emissions associated with company travel.

3. Ethical sourcing and forestry impact

We are committed to supporting sustainable forestry by:

  • Promoting suppliers who adhere to internationally recognized forestry standards.
  • Conducting due diligence to avoid sourcing from illegal or high-risk deforestation areas.

4. Health and safety in production

We recognize the health and environmental concerns linked to the production of paper products. We:

  • Work with partners who prioritize worker safety and environmental compliance.
  • Encourage transparency and continuous improvement in production processes.

5. Continuous improvement

Nordcell will regularly review and improve its environmental practices. We engage with suppliers, customers, and logistics partners to promote shared responsibility for a more sustainable future.

In addition to above, Nordcell policy also includes avoiding

  1. Illegally harvested wood;
  2. Wood harvested in violation of traditional and civil rights;
  3. Wood harvested in forests where high conservation values are threatened by management activities;
  4. Wood harvested in forests being converted to plantations or non-forest use;
  5. Wood from forests in which genetically modified trees are planted.

Anti-corruption policy

Purpose

Nordcell is committed to conducting business with integrity, transparency, and in compliance with all applicable anti-corruption laws. This policy aims to prevent corruption and bribery in all forms across our operations.

Scope

This policy applies to all employees, officers, directors, contractors, consultants, representatives, and any other individuals or entities acting on behalf of Nordcell (“Associated Persons”).

Policy Statement

  • Nordcell strictly prohibits all forms of bribery and corruption, whether direct or indirect.
  • No Associated Person may offer, give, solicit, or receive any bribe or improper payment, including facilitation payments, to or from any individual, company, or public official.
  • All forms of demands to give bribes shall be refused.
  • When handling funds and in regard to payments, sufficient caution shall be taken so as to ensure that bribery is not promoted through gross negligence.
  • All business dealings must be recorded accurately and fairly in Nordcell’s books and records.
  • Gifts, hospitality, or entertainment must be reasonable, infrequent, and transparent, and must not be intended to influence a business decision improperly.

We source our products and materials ethically, ensuring that they are produced under fair labour conditions and in compliance with human rights standards. We promote transparency and accountability throughout our supply chain.

We are committed to doing business in regions free from conflict and violence. We do not engage in trading activities that contribute to or perpetuate conflict or human rights abuses.
